World Space Week 2017

World Space Week is an international annual celebration of space science and technology, observed during the week of 04-10 October. The commencing and concluding dates of world space week recalls two important dates in space history.

04 October, 1957: Journey to space started with the launch of the first man-made Earth satellite, Sputnik 1.

10 October, 1967: The signing of the treaty on principles governing the activities of states in the exploration and peaceful uses of outer space, including

  • 5th october to 8th october - Space Expo planned to be conducted combinedly by VSSC,LPSC,IISU & IPRC at S.T.Hindu College.

  • 06/10/2017 -Elocution Competition and Water Rocket Competition at District Science Centre,Tirunelveli on 10-10-2017.
  • Space Expo will be conducted at Thanjavur & Theni district.
